Flames
About the Author
Robbie Arnott is an Australian writer born in Launceston in 1989 who currently lives in Hobart. He was named a 2019 Sydney Morning Herald Best Young Novelist following the publishing of his debut novel, Flames. Arnott has a unique style of storytelling based on nature writing that he attributes to growing up in his home island. Despite his second novel being set elsewhere, so as to avoid being typecast as writing only about Tasmania, The Rain Heron, published in 2020, also contains the striking imagery and symbolism of Tasmania that features prominently in Flames.
Arnott is currently engaged in a writing residency at the University of Tasmania where he delivers workshops, masterclasses and public talks to creative writing students, emerging Tasmanian authors, and the broader creative community. He is currently working on his third novel which, like Flames, will be set in Tasmania.
